Traction systems for temporary suspended platforms and exterior building access.
On suspended access, the UNILIFT is the traction hoist in the system. The wire rope passes through the hoist instead of winding onto a drum, so working height follows the rope deployed.
This page focuses on the North American UNILIFT traction hoist and its role within suspended access systems. Platform, rigging and project-specific access equipment are defined separately for each installation.

FAS-authorized 3/8 in (9.5 mm) rope. Working height follows the rope deployed.

The working deck the hoist travels with or lifts.
Support and rigging are defined separately for each installation.
Exterior work on the building, with the hoist as part of the suspended system.
Three North American configurations. These models are certified to UL 1323 and CSA Z271 for powered suspended scaffold and suspended access applications.

The rope passes through the hoist. It is not stored on a drum.
Lifting height is set by the rope deployed.
208 V / 60 Hz. Single-phase where three-phase power is not available.
An independent OSLA device locks the rope if descent exceeds the rated limit.
Platform load, number of hoists, voltage and rope are reviewed before a model is chosen.
Documentation for mounting, electrical connection and the safety devices that ship with the hoist.
Hour meter, service intervals and a 500-hour overhaul cycle, with parts and technical support from FAS-Tech.
